Graduate of Japan Ayurveda School Professional’s Course, she is a highly experienced Ayurveda Therapist, formerly with Okamoto Clinic. She also operated a treatment salon, SEIREI in Fujisawa city, Kanagawa prefecture. She is certified through Japan Ayurveda School as an Ayurveda Lifestyle Counselor.
Meeting Dr. Chandrakant Prabhakar Sardeshmukh and hearing his amazing sitar playing has made a profound impact on how she approaches her practice of Ayurveda as means of healing. Ever since she witnessed his true genius in musical healing, she has made great efforts to pursue her studies and research in the field of physical and spiritual healing. From 2006-2009, Fuyuyama taught at the Japan Ayurveda School, both the main curriculum and the Therapist Training. She is a member of Darshanam Foundation (“Darshanam”), assisting the founder, Dr. Pooja Sardeshmukh, who comes from generations of family lineage deeply rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. Starting from Darshanam’s seminar “Message from Indian Tradition”, Furuyama has availed herself in planning and operating programs that introduces Ayurvedic musical Healing methods, Indian music concerts, Indian cuisine, mantra chanting, and other Indian wisdom in Japan. Under Dr. Sardeshmukh’s guidance, Furuyama has developed and expanded Darshanam’s programs, organizing the visits to Japan by renowned Ayurvedic doctors, Dr. Sadananda Sardeshmukh and Dr. Sudha Aklujkar to conduct direct consultations with patients in need of Ayurvedic treatments.
2007-2009 Hatai Clinic, Ayurvedic therapist; 2008 operated Ayurvedic treatment salon, “AYU” in Shinagawa, arranging a visit from India to Japan of renowned Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Sudha Aklujkar to conduct treatments otherwise unavailable in Japan.
Darshanam is an organization that promotes India’s traditions and culture through lectures and workshops on Ayurveda, Indian music, and Yoga for beginners as well as for the advanced level students. They are known for clear and practical teachings of various Indian disciplines of studies. Furuyama has given lectures and workshops at numerous locations and venues, included are Radishbo-ya, Co. Ltd. (2006) and YogaFesta (2005), Japan Ayurveda School, Yokohama Yu-Yu Association, Asahi Culture Center; workshops at Okayama LOHAStyle Studio, Anjali Yoga Studio, to name a few.
