Toshio Miura

Toshiro Miura studied agriculture in Colorado and is a graduate of Oklahoma University in 1980. During the five years of his stay in the US, Toshiro became a licensed massage therapist in Florida as he developed a deep sympathy for a holistic view of health that yoga, macrobiotics and some other exercises have in common. After he returned to Japan in 1984, he became a yoga instructor teaching primarily in the western part of the Kanagawa prefecture while continuing to practice Eastern Medicine including acupuncture therapy. In 2004, he opened Kripalu Yoga studio in Shibuya, Tokyo, after being certified by the largest American holistic platform Kripalu Center of Yoga and Health, which eventually merged with Ginza Muku Studio in October 2006 into Kripalu Japan. Currently, Toshiro focuses on instructing Kripalu Yoga, including a teacher training program at Kripalu Japan’s “Yoga of Life” in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. He is a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner, an Acupuncturist and an Acupressure therapist. E-500 RYT, Yoga Alliance.
