Michiko Minegishi

プロフィール

After pioneering in the fitness exercise, she received an Oki Yoga instructor certification in 2000, and is currently shifting her focus into the Vinyasa-Flow style practice. Believing that building flexible sequences that body and mind are naturally inclined to move can help people discover unlimited possibilities, she finds her inspiration in sharing joys of changes and progresses with many of her students. Her work is widely recognized and publicized in magazines, books, and is also known for leading classes at Yoga Fest and Yoga Aid Challenges. Throughout the year, she offers numerous workshops, seminars, and teachers training programs using anatomy based theory and practice. At her studio, Body & Mind Yoga Studio, she is committed to offering a comfortable space for beginners while providing essences that capture the mind of dedicated practitioners. Recently, she has expanded her teaching scope to include innovative and effective props, as well as putting a special effort in developing practice using yoga sticks and continues to promote self-adjustment techniques. Keeping in mind the importance of finding most effective and appropriate yoga practice methods for Japanese practitioners’ body and mind, she offers wealth of wisdom through over 30 years of teaching physical exercises. As well, she is involved in developing exercise programs for people with mental disorder and seniors. She has also developed a yoga program for those with physical challenges and teaching instructors for this program nationally. She is also dedicated to growing the yoga community through Handicap Yoga National events and Fireworks Yoga, and continues to spread the idea that Yoga is for everyone. She has written several books and her titles include: “Building the Anti-Aging Body” and “For Smiling Future”.
