[25G3] Learning lower back-friendly backbends from Rolfing(R)

  • Lesson ID:[25G3]
  • Info:

In this class, you will explore the natural “bending” movement that is led by fascia connections and skeletal structure using the movement exercise of Rolfing that is called re-education of the body. Let’s awaken perceptions, let go of unnecessary strain and regain a good balance of tension and relaxation. Also you will experience the interaction between shoulders and chest and the integration of legs and the psoas major to avoid putting a strain on your lower back, and the sense of pelvic floor.

    [What is Rolfing(R)?]
Rolfing is a process of re-education of the body that was studied, developed and evolved by an American female biochemist, Dr. Ida Rolf (1896 – 1979) since 1920’s. It works upon connective tissues (fascia, ligament, tendon, periosteum, etc.) by manipulation. At the same time, it awakens dormant perceptions and leads to more effective body movements to bring harmony with gravity. Through a series of 10 to 12 sessions of a program, a Rolfer releases stress that has been patterned over many years and prompts body integration by delicately approaching the whole body including legs, torso, chest, head and internal organs.
